Feel Relaxed in The Treatment Chair
Countless adults suffer from dental anxiety and fear due to a variety of reasons, like bad past experiences. Unfortunately, this keeps many people from taking care of their oral health out of nervousness. At Dental Innovations, we offer three different types of sedation methods to help you optimize the health of your teeth and gums without having to sacrifice your mental wellbeing. The best way to learn what type of sedation best fits your needs is to speak with one of our dental professionals.

Oral Conscious Sedation Dentistry
Oral conscious sedation is a great option for patients who are claustrophobic or have a fear of needles and may not feel comfortable receiving other forms of sedation. We will prescribe a pill for you to take about an hour before your appointment. The effects should begin by the time you arrive at our dental office, allowing you to feel comfortable and relaxed throughout your entire treatment. This method of sedation is great for patients who have moderate or severe anxiety.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
For patients with more mild anxiety, nitrous oxide sedation is a great sedation method that works quickly and doesn’t cause lingering effects. When you sit down in our treatment chair, we’ll place a small nose mask on your face so you can breathe in the gaseous mixture. Within a few minutes, you’ll notice a wave of euphoria wash over you, allowing you to relax so we can begin the treatment. As soon as the appointment is over, we’ll remove the mask and the effects will quickly wear off.
IV Sedation
For patients with severe anxiety or are undergoing an extensive dental treatment, we also offer IV sedation. The sedation medication will be administered directly into your bloodstream, and you’ll begin to feel comfortable soon after. In many cases, patients don’t remember their treatment after the sedation is halted and the effects begin to wear off. If you get IV sedation, it’s important to bring a trusted friend or family member with you to drive you home.
